Airport of Alicante in Spain is an international commercial airport in the Spanish province of Alicante, Valencia region in the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula.
The airport is located southwest of Alicante near El Altet (municipality of Elche) and is therefore also called Aeropuerto El Altet. With around 15 million passengers in 2019, it was the fifth busiest airport in Spain.
The airport is located about nine kilometres southwest of Alicante near the national road N 332 (Carretera Cartagena-Alicante-Valencia) and is easily accessible from all coastal towns via the Autovia del Mediterráneo A-7 (alternatively from the north to Alicante coastal motorway Autopista AP-7 (toll) and Autovía A-70).
Alicante Airport Public transport:
- There are buses to Alicante airport or Benidorm every 40 minutes (journey time approx. 45 minutes). Recently, there is a new bus line C-6 that runs every 20 minutes to Alicante. The journey time is said to be 30 minutes.
- The railway station Estación de Renfe – Torrellano is also located in the immediate vicinity of the airport. From here, trains depart approximately every hour in the direction of Alicante (north) and Murcia (south).
